Halloween in the suburbs

Everybody knows about halloween?!Well maybe you haven't heard about a halloween done in a lot of style like ours. Everybody has at least 3 parties of their own. This halloween is the best we've had in a long time and its not over yet.I didn't find halloween very exciting before but it is epic when you can organise many parties and most of all when you have the right costume. There is a famous HORROR MOVIE called Annabelle that came out not a very long time ago so I decided to dress up like her. The vampire and the devil are up to no good again. Can we stop them?!

FALL APPLE PICKING

La Ferme de Gally is a wonderful farm where you can pick many fruits and vegetables of different shapes and sizes. Following the seasons they have many wonders, that are ripe for you to pick right off the plant or tree. Its like having your own gigantic farm. What a sensation! They have 60 alleys filled with apple trees for you to pick from.It is a nice break from the every day life, that brings you to a nice walk around fruits and vegetables while chatting with friends. It is something that a 3 year old enjoys but also a 50 year old. Its hard to find a place like this. All in all it is a nice weekend activity to enjoy. And you get to come home with many fruits and vegetables to enjoy!

We very much enjoyed this day and ate it in a bite.

LA RENTREE

La rentrée of which we call the beginning of the school year here is a great way to define it in only one word. New to this area I was eager to know if the walk to school was so different here and how?
Well good enough the walk was very much different no traffic lights, not many cars roaring with people squeezed inside honking like wild animals, no shops to distract you, not many people on the sidewalk at times it is only me... The changes weren't to hard to adapt to, at least not as hard as you might think. I slid in to the area and the school like if I had lived here forever. Some things about Paris I miss like meeting up with friends at the corner of the street to go to school but it is also nice to experience two styles of living and I think that everybody should experience that at least once in their lifetime.

Tessa in the school courtyard. Here unlike Paris they let the parents go in.

Benji excited to go in to school for the first time. Now 15 years of waking up early to go!

                                                                    And me!

HONDARRIBIA

Hondarribia is a nice town near San Sebastian you can drive there or take the bus.
It has beautiful little houses and lovely little cobblestone alleys. The restaurants are fantastic!
There is a pedestrian only street that has good ice cream shops. The beach is great but if you are only going to be in Hondarribia for a couple of hours its not worth it.
You can see the sea from many great spots all around the town!

SAN SEBASTIAN

San Sebastian is a great holiday destination these are some useful tips to make your stay better!

                                                               BEACHES

All 3 beaches in San Sebastian are wonderful!
Just go to the one closest to you.
Be there before 3:00. Big crowds start coming at that time.
You can rent chairs at the beach for 1 euro from 10-2 o'clock and 1 euro from 2-6 o'clock.

                                                                STAY

Make sure to stay in a place that is near the old town but also near the beaches.
Because if you stay in the old town you will be near all of the restaurants, cafes....., but it will be a long walk to the beaches.
And if you stay near the beaches you will have to walk a lot to get to the restaurants and cafes.

                                                            RESTAURANTS

San Sebastian is the number 1 food destination 2016. So no worries!
You can get tapas anywhere really. The old town has the best restaurants.
We went to San Sebastian during the festival and it was hard to get seats in a restaurant after 8:00.

THINGS TO DO IN SAN SEBASTIAN

San Sebastian has a great aquarium!
During the festival there is a firework competition from 10:45-11 or 11:15.

BILBAO

We woke up one morning in San Sebastián to the sound of rain hitting the windows of our rental.
So my mom took a look at the weather in Bilbao. And it was going to be sunny there!
So we decided to drive to Bilbao for the day. It was great ! We went to the Guggenheim where there was a Jeff Koons exhibit.

Then we took the subway to Casco Viejo.
A great place to eat with 7 streets of restaurants!

On the way home we walked along the water where there are some great parks.
It was one of these great family moments to remember!

WOWPARK

On the way from Biarritz to San Sebastián there is a great park called WOWPARK.
It has fun games that are fun for kids and their parents. It is a WOW!
Activities from 2-102 year olds get the family together. With games like

jumping on a trampoline with the balls,

climbing up into tree houses,

bouncing on a bouncy castle,

sledding real fast (if you do not like fast things there is a slower slope),
archery,

play horses that you can go on and much more for you to discover.
